This is a 10 year old single malt from BenRiach, called The Original Ten and released in 2020 as part of a new core range. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in three types of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak casks. Together they give honeyed fruit and softly toasted oak, with just a hint of smoke.
The nose has nectarine, honeydew melon, vanilla sponge with cream and jam, and a touch of cedar. The palate moves to croissants dipped in milky coffee and cinnamon rolls, with creamy orchard fruit and a waft of earthy peat. The finish is nutty malt, vanilla pod and apricot.
