Benriach – 'The Twenty One' Four Cask-Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Benriach 'The Twenty One' is a Speyside single malt matured for a minimum of twenty-one years and bottled at 46%. It brings together unpeated and peated spirit. Maturation takes place in four kinds of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry casks, virgin oak casks and Bordeaux red wine casks. Over those years the smoke softens and mixes with fruity, malty and oaky notes, finishing in a honeyed smokiness. The nose offers berries, orchard apples, wild honey and oak spice. On the palate come candied grapes, cocoa and smoked pine nuts, followed by caramelised pear and honey smoke. The finish is balanced, with lingering honey smoke.
