This is Small Batch No. 1, a Benrinnes bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd in 2023 in a 70cl bottle. Several hogsheads of spirit distilled in 2010 were combined, and the whisky matured for thirteen years. It is not a single cask bottling.
It was bottled at 46% in a run of 1,067 bottles, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose is honey and fresh hay with a warm floral scent, plus citrus and green Granny Smith apples. The palate is soft and fruity, with golden syrup sweetness and a savoury, meaty spice. The medium finish stays fruity and floral, with a savoury note like soup seasoning.
