This is a nine year old Benrinnes, a Speyside single malt distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2026 by Murray McDavid for its Cask Partnership Series. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 55.2%, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The last four years of maturation were spent in 110-litre casks from the Koval Distillery in Chicago, which had previously held bourbon. The edition runs to 1,249 bottles.
The nose is dried pineapple and citrus oils, with pastry and malt behind. On the palate a smooth, dense texture carries strong toasted mixed nuts and deep maltiness. Pepper marks the finish, with fruit notes fading gently.
