Benromach – 10 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

Benromach 10 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It is the entry-level age statement from the distillery, which Gordon and MacPhail acquired from United Distillers and which resumed production in 1998. The whisky is made from about 80% ex-bourbon and 20% ex-sherry casks, matured for nine years. It then spends a further twelve months in an Oloroso sherry cask for its tenth year. Benromach's spirit is peated a little more heavily than many Speyside malts, at around 8 to 12ppm.
