Benromach – 2006-2018 Van Wees (70cl, 59.2%)

This is a single cask Speyside single malt from Benromach, a distillery known for lightly peated whiskies. It was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2018 for Van Wees, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a first fill bourbon barrel and was bottled at cask strength, 59.2%. The cask gave 193 bottles. On the nose it offers citrus fruit, oak, cedar and smoke. The palate is earthy, with peat, vanilla and citrus, and the finish is smoky, salty and dry.
