This single cask Ruadh Mhor from Berry Bros & Rudd is a heavily peated Highland single malt, distilled at Glenturret in 2011. The name means 'Big Red' in Gaelic. It matured for 14 years and was bottled at 60.4% ABV from cask 284, with 125 bottles released.
The nose has earthy peat, damp bracken, toasted spices, apple peel and roast meat. On the palate come charcoal smoke, burnt twigs, malty sweetness and floral honey. The finish stays smoky, with sweet barley and warming earthy spices.
