Bertrand Uberach "X" is a 10 year old Alsace single malt, in a 50cl bottle at 51.2% ABV. It is aged in barrels chosen by Jean Metzger from well-known cellars in Banyuls, which previously held sweet wines for several years.
The nose offers gingerbread, candied bitter orange, crème brûlée and hazelnut, followed by cardamom, cloves and blond tobacco. On the palate it is unctuous, with burnt caramel, kola nut and cooked peach. The finish brings caramel and iodine.
