Big Peat 10 Year Old Winter Edition 2026 is a limited blended malt from Douglas Laing, in the Remarkable Regional Malts range. It is made only from Islay malt whiskies, each matured for at least ten years before vatting. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
A 16-month finish in French red wine casks lays dark forest fruit, black cherry and plum over the maritime peat smoke.
The nose combines peat smoke and salty coastal air with black cherry, dark berries, plum, vanilla and butterscotch. The palate is full and powerful, with dense smoke, dark fruit, salted caramel and dark chocolate. The finish is long, smoky and warming.
