Big Peat The Gold Edition is a 25 year old Islay blended malt from Douglas Laing's, part of The Vintage Series. It was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2017 at 52.1%, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in oak casks and is bottled without colouring or chill-filtration. The nose shows a softer, more mature side of Big Peat, with boat varnish, rockpools and a background of smoky barbecue. On the palate it is sweetly peated, warming to creosote, black pepper and chimney smoke. The finish keeps that warm depth before damp bonfire ash, coal dust and charred meat appear.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
