Big Peat Christmas Edition 2015 (70cl, 53.8%)

Big Peat Christmas Edition 2015 is an Islay blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled in a 70cl bottle as a small batch at natural cask strength, 53.8%. It is not chill filtered and has no added colouring. Peat is clear on the nose, alongside citrus, malt, liquorice, a little mint and sea air. The palate is more intense still, with liquorice, citrus and a pleasant peppery touch, recalling salty beaches and the ashes of a cold fireplace. The finish is warm and of medium length, with dark chocolate and chilli, ash and a pinch of salt.
