Big Peat Fèis Ìle 2018 is an Islay blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It has no added colouring and is not chill-filtered.
The nose is predominantly maritime, with meaty smoke, a subtle background of golden syrup and a light touch of mashed ripe banana. The palate is robust, with a burst of peat, chimney soot, charcoal and cigarette ash, plus marked sea salt and crisp lemon peel.
The finish is long, with peat lingering, then scorched oak, smoked bacon and a faint sweetness of milk chocolate.
