Big Peat Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (1L, 48%)

Big Peat is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, made only from Islay single malts. It was the first vatted malt of this kind for the company, and it is bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour, in a 1 litre bottle. Caol Ila is said to add sweetness, Bowmore balance, Ardbeg a medicinal, earthy quality and Port Ellen a degree of elegance. It is produced in very small batches. The nose is fresh, salty and clean, with peat, chocolate, coffee, spiced cedar and nuts. The palate has dense smoke, cut grass, peanut and spice. The finish is long, with coastal notes, peppery liquorice and smoke.
