Big Peat is a blended malt that brings together whisky from Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Port Ellen. It is a Douglas Laing bottling. The Glasgow firm was founded in 1948 by Fred Douglas and is now run by his two sons. The whisky is not chill-filtered, following an older, more traditional approach that brings out its maritime character on the nose, palate and finish. It is fairly phenolic in style.
