Big Peat The Gall & Gall Edition is an Islay blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is a small batch, limited edition, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The nose is led by smoke: bonfire, chimney soot and damp ash, with coastal notes of rock salt and seaweed. On the palate it is smoky and earthy, with sweet tar, dense peat and burnt wood, alongside black pepper, fresh ginger and a touch of lemon peel.
The finish is long and oily, with salt, sea breeze and charcoal embers fading slowly.
