Big Peat USA Limited Edition (75cl, 53.3%)

Big Peat USA Limited Edition is a blended malt from Islay, made for the brand's American followers and bottled by Douglas Laing at 53.3% in a 75cl bottle. It is blended from Islay distilleries including Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen, and is non-chill filtered with no added colouring. The nose brings sea spray, bonfire smoke, brine, a little smoked bacon and lemon peel. On the palate there is ashy peat, black pepper, seaweed, salted caramel and roasted malt, with barbecue smoke and herbal notes in the middle. The finish is long, savoury and smoky, with campfire, liquorice root and a dry, spicy fade.
