Black Bull 12 Year Old (70cl, 50%)

Black Bull 12 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky bottled by Duncan Taylor in a 70cl bottle at 50%, without chill filtration. The brand first appeared in the 1860s, and Duncan Taylor bought it in the 1990s. The blend has a 50% malt content, mostly well-aged Speyside and Highland malts, and was matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. The colour is a full amber. The nose is robust, with chocolate, toffee, sherry, vanilla and lemon sherbet. The palate is smooth, mellow and rounded, with milk chocolate, treacle toffee, pears, green apples and plenty of sweet vanilla. The finish brings heavier fruit and creamy notes.
