Black Snake Vat No.1 Fifth Venom (60.7%)

Black Snake Vat No.1 Fifth Venom is a single malt from Blackadder, bottled in June 2017 at 60.7% ABV as one of 580 bottles. It comes from a vatting that began in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, with part of the whisky then finished in an Oloroso sherry butt. The vatting works as a small solera, with each bottling named a Venom. This is the fifth, from the first cask used. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The whisky is described as cherrywood in colour. It has intense dark fruit with light leather, cherry compote, plums, a touch of blackberry and a hint of oak.
