Blackadder Raw Cask Shizuoka 2018 is a Japanese single malt from the Shizuoka distillery, bottled by Blackadder in its Raw Cask style. It was distilled on 28 June 2018, matured in a bourbon barrel and bottled on 1 August 2023 at 63.8%, straight from the cask without filtration or dilution. Visible cask residue is a deliberate part of the style. Only 223 bottles were filled.
The nose is clean and layered, with malt, vanilla, coconut and lightly toasted oak over a fresh, mineral tension. The palate is powerful and oily, with concentrated grain and woody spices, ending in a long, dry finish marked by the bourbon barrel.
