Blanton's Straight from the Barrel (70cl, 63.3%)

Blanton's Straight from the Barrel is a single barrel bourbon bottled unfiltered and undiluted at 63.3%, in a 70cl bottle. It is made for drinkers who like whiskey at cask strength, and is best served neat or with a small splash of water. The horse and jockey on the stopper are the brand's trademark. From 1999 a collector's set of eight stoppers was produced, each marked with a letter, and together they spell Blanton's. The nose is dark chocolate, caramel and butter with earthy walnut and hazelnut. The palate shows warm vanilla, oak, roasted nuts and rich spice with caramel and honey, and the finish is deep and lingering.
