Pact No. 2 is the 2016 release in the Blood Oath series, blended by John Rempe for Luxco. It combines three bourbons: an eleven year old rye bourbon, an eleven year old wheated bourbon and a seven year old rye bourbon finished in port barrels. The port finish is applied to that youngest component only.
It was bottled at 49.3% (98.6 proof), closed with a natural cork and signed by Rempe. The run was 7,500 three-bottle cases, or 22,500 bottles.
The nose has toasted oak, caramel, maple syrup, vanilla, cocoa, tobacco leaf and dried fruit. The palate shows scorched sugar and cocoa powder with clove, allspice and ginger over toasty grain, and the finish is smooth, long and dry.
