Boann Single Pot Still Marsala Cask (70cl, 47%)

Boann Single Pot Still Marsala Cask is an Irish whisky bottled at 47% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The mash bill combines malted barley, unmalted barley, oats and rye, all of it Irish and grown locally. The distillate was first matured in heavily charred ex-bourbon barrels, then filled into French oak Marsala butts. The Superiore and Fine Marsala butts were sourced in collaboration with the Marsala house Cantine de Vinci. The bourbon oak gives a backbone of vanilla and honey, layered with spice from the French oak and juicy citrus from the Marsala. The label design refers to the local barley in the mash and to the cornflower.
