Bomberger's Declaration Kentucky Straight Bourbon 2025 (54%)

Bomberger's Declaration is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon, in its 2025 release at 54% ABV (108 proof). It recalls the Bomberger's distillery of the 1800s, which was later known as Michter's in the twentieth century. The bourbon is aged in Chinquapin oak. For this release the wood was air dried and seasoned for 18 months, 3 years, 4 years and 5 years before toasting and charring, which changes what each barrel gives the whisky. The nose is bright fruit, roasted nuts and salted caramel. The palate moves from floral, jammy, sweet and salty flavours to lingering spice, with chocolate and berries, and the finish is lingering and complex.
