Boot Hill Red Eye is a Kansas whiskey from Boot Hill Distillery in Dodge City, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made in the style of a frontier pour from the 1880s, using the distillery's bourbon new-make from an estate-grown mash of 51% corn and 49% wheat.
The whiskey rests for six to twelve months in a mix of new and used barrels of varying sizes, then is blended.
Tasting notes describe a nose of sweet butterscotch with a floral lift, caramel corn and honey. The palate has bright wood, strong vanilla and a sweet, spicy snap, and the finish is sweet grain, vanilla and soft oak.
