Borders Right As Rain Workshop Series (70cl, 40%)

A blended Scotch from the Borders distillery in Hawick, released as the third instalment in the Workshop Series. Everything was made on site: 75% single malt and 25% single grain rye whisky, both double distilled in pot stills. The malt matured in red wine and first-fill ex-bourbon casks, while the rye matured in Cognac casks. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The nose brings tinned peaches, vanilla fudge and fig. Red apple pie and caramel lead the palate, and the finish is creamy and warming.
