Bowmore – 12 Year Old (Bottled 1970s) 1 Litre (1L, 43%)

This is an older bottle of Bowmore 12 Year Old, an Islay single malt from the official range, bottled in the 1970s in a 1 litre size at 43% ABV. It is in the dumpy bottle shape and has a plastic stopper. The label is that of Morrison Bowmore, from the years before Suntory took over the company in 1989. The nose is briny, with sea air, tropical fruit, flowery notes and plenty of peat. The palate is sweet, with caramel, café latte, peat and milk chocolate, and a very slippery texture. The finish is medium long, fresh and clean.
