This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle.
It was matured first in bourbon barrels and then in Oloroso sherry casks, where it spent its final three years. That sherry period gives the whisky its deep burnt sienna colour and a warming finish.
On the nose there are dark chocolate and raisins alongside the familiar Bowmore smokiness. The palate brings cedar wood and rich treacle toffee, and the finish is spicy, with toffee, sherry and barley.
