Bowmore – 15 Years Old Sherry Cask Finish (70cl, 43%)

This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured first in bourbon barrels and then finished in Oloroso sherry casks, where it spends its final three years. That time in Oloroso gives the whisky its rich, deep colour, described as burnt sienna, and a robust, warming finish. The nose combines dark chocolate and raisin with Bowmore's classic smokiness. On the palate there are cedar wood and rich treacle toffee, and the finish is spicy, with toffee, sherry and barley.
