Bowmore 18 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask is an Islay single malt matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry wood.
The whisky sets bright citrus against the soft, recognisable peat of the distillery, with a range of fruit tones running through it.
The nose combines dark chocolate, cocoa beans, zesty citrus and a rich peatiness. On the palate come layers of orange peel, moist sultanas, aniseed spice and cocoa beans, and the finish is fruity, with considerable depth.
