This is a 31 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, distilled in 1988 and bottled at 45.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the Timeless Series and is one of 3,000 bottles.
The whisky spent 29 years in Bourbon casks, then two more years in Spanish oak Matusalem sherry butts to finish.
The nose is floral, with summer blossom, fruit, sweet almonds and vanilla, then acacia honey, freshly cut grass and a touch of peppermint. The palate is delicate, with magnolia blossom, lilac and creamy cookie dough, and Bowmore's subtle smoke and salted seaweed emerge over time. The finish is sweet and warming, with acacia honey and mint.
