An Islay Bowmore distilled in 1965 and aged for 20 years. It was bottled by Gordon and MacPhail in the mid 1980s for the Italian importer Sestante, at 43% in a 75cl bottle. Bowmore from the mid 1960s is known for its fruit.
The nose brings passion fruit, bitter dark chocolate and good Italian coffee. On the palate there is full fruit jam covered with white pepper, in a compact, full-bodied malt that is a little drier than some other old Bowmores.
