Bowmore 21 Year Old Sherry Oak is an Islay single malt matured in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, then finished in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. It is bottled at 46.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Sherry and smoke sit side by side in a layered character.
The nose brings tobacco leaves, heather, iodine, ginger, tanned leather, toffee, treacle and beeswax. On the palate are sweet toffee, vanilla, treacle, oranges, cinnamon, nutmeg and barbecued meat, with red berries, stewed rhubarb and a little salty smoke. The finish is long and spicy, with sweet woods and gentle smoke.
