This is a 21 year old Bowmore from the Sherry Oak series, bottled at 46.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, then finished in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask.
It sits at the top of the Sherry Oak series, with a multi-layered character that combines sherry and smoke.
The nose brings tobacco leaves, heather, iodine, ginger, leather, toffee and beeswax. On the palate there is sweet toffee, vanilla, treacle, oranges, cinnamon and nutmeg, with red berries, stewed rhubarb and a little salty smoke. The finish is long and spicy, with sweet woods and gentle smoke.
