Bowmore – 25 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Bottled 2002) (70cl, 43%)

This is a 25 year old Bowmore, an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled in 2002 at 43% abv. It was matured for a quarter of a century in North American bourbon and Spanish sherry casks. The whisky is described as mellow mahogany in colour. The nose is intense sherry and stewed fruits with a trace of Bowmore smokiness. On the palate come toffee and hazelnut, woven together with a hint of sweet peat smoke, and the finish is mellow, gentle and complex.
