Bowmore 25 is an Islay single malt aged for 25 years in a combination of American bourbon and Spanish sherry casks. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
This release came out in 2013, limited to about 8,000 bottles. It is described as balancing fruity richness with gentle peat smoke.
The nose is mahogany in colour, with sherry, stewed fruits and a trace of smokiness. On the palate come toffee and hazelnut with a hint of sweet peat smoke. The finish is mellow, gentle and complex.
