This is a 26 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, the second release in its Vintner's Trilogy. It is bottled at 48.7% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent 13 years in ex-bourbon barrels and a further 13 years in French oak wine barriques.
It is a burnt amber colour. The nose is redcurrant jam, camphor oil and cherry pie with earthy smoke. The palate is mouth-coating, with oak-spiced smoke and dark chocolate. The finish is long and mouth-watering, with a hint of salt on the lips.
