Bowmore – 30 Year Old 2021 Edition (70cl, 45.1%)

Bowmore 30 Year Old is the 2021 annual edition from Islay. The whisky was distilled in 1989 and matured for three decades in sherry hogsheads and bourbon barrels. It was bottled in 2020 at its cask strength of 45.1%, in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour. The edition is 2,976 bottles worldwide and comes in a wooden box. The character joins ripe apricot and tropical fruit with honey sweetness, while the peat smoke stays fine. The nose has heather honey and ripe apricots with charred pineapple, mango and butterscotch. On the palate, layered tropical fruit and honey sweetness sit beside gentle peat smoke. The finish is warming, with ripe fruit lingering.
