Bowmore – 30 Year Old (2023 Release) (45.9%)

This is the 2023 release of Bowmore 30 Year Old, an Islay single malt bottled at 45.9% ABV. It was matured for 30 years in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and sherry casks. The edition was limited to 2,568 bottles, and its presentation takes inspiration from the Islay landscape, in particular weathered driftwood and sea glass. It is part of Bowmore's annual 30 Year Old series. Tasting notes describe ripe papaya, caramelised mango and molasses on the nose, then layers of tropical fruit with honey and warm peat smoke on the palate. The finish is gently warming, with tropical fruit lingering.
