This is an Islay single malt from Bowmore, distilled in 1968 and bottled in 1977 by Fecchio & Frassa. It was drawn from sherry cask 222, which gave 280 bottles, and is bottled at 59.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
With water, the nose turns medicinal, with bandages, seawater, old cellar, raw wool and hay, plus putty, tar and chocolate. The finish is long, combining sea notes with smoke and citrus fruits, including salted kumquats.
