Braunstein – Edition E:2 (63.4%)

Braunstein Edition E:2 is a Danish whisky from the Braunstein distillery in Køge, made from peated malt and distilled once on a combined column and pot still apparatus. The new spirit was reduced with spring water to 63.4% ABV. It matured in a 190 litre American oak cask that previously held Bourbon, filled on 19 December 2007. The cask is described as adding chocolate, vanilla and dried fruit. The smoke is held back on the nose and steps forward on the palate. The finish is long and distinctive, and the whisky is said to bring to mind the sea and open sky.
