A 14 year old single malt from Bruichladdich, Yellow Submarine WMD II, aged in oak and finished in Spanish Rioja wine casks. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The name comes from a yellow mini-submarine that a local fisherman found in his nets a few miles from the distillery, while the vessel was clearing mines left from the Second World War.
The nose is malty and sweet, with spicy oak, light pepper, apricot, a little citrus and maritime notes. On the palate oak comes first, then caramel and fresh mint, with fruit, nuts and a touch of cereal.
