Bruichladdich The Sixteen is a 16 year old single malt bottled in 2008 at 46%, in a 70cl bottle. It replaced the earlier 15 year old expression in the distillery's range.
The change also affected the casks. Jim Beam barrels were no longer used again and again. Instead the whisky matures in white oak casks from the Ozark Mountains that previously held spirit at the Buffalo Trace distillery.
