Octomore Edition 15.3 is a five year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 61.3% ABV. It is super heavily peated, at 307.2 ppm, and made from 100% Islay-grown Concerto barley from Octomore Farm, harvested in 2017 and distilled in 2018.
It matured in first-fill bourbon casks (69%) and first-fill Oloroso hogsheads from Fernando de Castilla in Jerez (31%).
The nose offers smoked cinder toffee, barley sugar, honey and citrus with crushed seashells. The palate is soft and viscous, with butterscotch, vanilla, dried fruit and orange zest under dry smoke. The finish brings burnt sugar, coconut and sea spray.
