Octomore Edition 17.3 is a super heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 60.9% ABV with a phenol level of 132.1 PPM. It is a single farm, single field, single vintage whisky made from 100% Islay Concerto barley grown in Irene's Field on Octomore Farm. The spirit was distilled in 2020 from the 2019 harvest and aged for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill European oak, including Ribera del Duero, Sauternes, Eiswein and Syrah casks. The nose brings salty, tarry peat smoke with malted grain, brown sugar, lemon peel and green apple. The palate is viscous and peppery, with salted caramel and smoked apple, and the finish is long and dry, ending in earthy smoke and sea salt.
