Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2014 is an unpeated single malt, distilled in 2014 and aged for eight years. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The barley is 100% Islay-grown, of the Concerto and Propino varieties, from eight farms within an 11-mile radius of the distillery. Maturation was mainly in first-fill bourbon casks (80%), with second-fill sherry butts (5%) and second-fill wine casks (15%).
The nose is floral, with sweet malt, ripe grain, pepper, soft stoned fruit and creamy vanilla. The palate brings creamy vanilla and lemon, nutmeg spice, sweet malt, warm porridge and popcorn.
