A 30 year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, released in the Rare Cask Series at 44.6% ABV. The new make was distilled in 1986 and the whisky bottled in 2017, with an outturn of 4,200 bottles.
It first matured in Oloroso butts in the distillery's waterside warehouses. In 2012 Jim McEwan moved it into Pedro Ximenez butts from Jan Pettersen and Bodega Fernando de Castilla for further maturation.
Oloroso and PX sherry, dark fruit, malt and oak shape its character.
