Bruichladdich – 26 Year Old XOP (70cl, 48%)

This is a 26 year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled by Douglas Laing. It was distilled in October 1991, matured in a refill hogshead and bottled in November 2017. Only 301 bottles were filled, at 48% with no added colour, in a 70cl size. Each comes in a wooden box with a heavy glass stopper and an individual certificate. The colour is light straw. The nose shows toasted malted barley with a citric quality, and the palate is smooth, opening gently towards home made marmalade. The finish brings luscious fruits, gentle beeswax and leather.
