This is an unpeated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, made from Bere barley, an ancient heritage grain, and sold in a 70cl bottle.
It was distilled in 2013 and matured for 10 years in a combination of first-fill ex-bourbon casks and European oak.
The nose is bright and floral, with sweet malt, honeysuckle, crisp green apple, ripe peach and icing sugar alongside a fresh sea breeze. The finish is long, with barley sugar, vanilla pod, lemon peel and a soft maritime saltiness.
