Bruichladdich Black Art 11.1 is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 44.2%. It is the seventh edition of Black Art created by head distiller Adam Hannett.
Every cask chosen dates from before Bruichladdich distillery was reopened, so the whisky matured on Islay for almost a quarter of a century.
The nose opens with dried fruit, leather, citrus and sea spray, then poached pear, rosehip syrup, black cherry and ripe mango. The palate offers dates, raisins, butterscotch and praline, with toasted oak and marzipan. The finish is long, with oak, figs, sultanas and honey.
