Bruichladdich – Black Art Edition 11.1 24 Years Old (44.2%)

This is the eleventh release in Bruichladdich's Black Art series and the seventh from Head Distiller Adam Hannett. It is an unpeated single malt, distilled in 1994 and matured for 24 years on Islay. The recipe is known only to Hannett, and the casks that make up the vatting are not revealed. It was bottled at 44.2% ABV. The nose combines dried fruit, leather and a touch of citrus, followed by rosehip syrup, poached pear and sweet mango. On the palate, barley sugar and toasted oak give way to butterscotch, nutty praline and hints of coconut. The finish recalls rich Christmas cake, with raisins, marzipan and lingering honey.
